Why didn't my autosave work?
I need a MS office Word 2003 "angel". A guru would do as well.
I've gotten into trouble and can't find the document I was working for hours on. I was modifying the heck out of an old memo, intending to "save as" a new filename. I was cutting & pasting from 10 old memos, went to close some excess windows, and I unintentionally closed the main document I was creating! My Word 2003 autosave box is checked. The time interval is set to 10 minutes. Why didn't it autosave a copy for me? Going to the autosave file location that is listed under "options" seems to indicate no autosave was made. I've got my "folders" view showing hidden and all extensions. Don't tell me to save regularly. I know I should. I haven't made an error like this for years! I need obscure information regarding a back door fix to bail me out and find my work. Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter. |

AutoRecovery (formerly AutoSave) only saves a recovery file if Word
terminates abnormally. If you close a file without saving, the temporary autorecovery file is automatically deleted by Word. "MrE2me" wrote: I need a MS office Word 2003 "angel".
