Default Document settings

Hi
Every new document that I open, opens in Landscape. When trying to change
the outlay from Landscape to Portrait in the page setup screen, it comes up
with a margin error. It also does not skip over to the next page when typing
a multiple page document. I have tried the default settings as well as
reinstalling word, but no luck.
Can someone please assist?

Default Document settings

Go to Format | Columns and choose the preset picture for One, then click OK.
To affect new documents, you'll need to do this in Normal.dot; for
instructions on finding and editing Normal.dot, see
