I have Office XP and when trying to open a Word or Excel document from a
network share (map), it takes several minutes to open the file. However, if
you already have Word of Excel open and do a 'file/open" and select the same
files from the share, they open very quickly. The OS is XP and has all MS
updates and patches for XP and Office applied.... this happens on two
different machines attached to our domain. The domain was recently upgraded
fom WIN2K to Win2003. That seems to be when the problem started. Any ideas?
