Word 2003 reading layout retains old data not seen in other layou.
We have a document that is updated regularly that shows old inforamtion only
in the "reading Layout" view. When viewed in any other layout it shows the current data. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! jb |

This doesn't sound right - the revision view you get (Final/Original
w/without markup) is usually the same in the Print Layout and Reading Layout views - changing it in one view changes it for the other. Can you change this setting (Reviewing toolbar dropdown) ? I'm assuming here that the "old information" is there because you are tracking changes. Another possibility is that you have the document automatically saving versions - old version information can then sometimes resurface if the document is corrupted. Either way the best solution may be to treat the document as corrupt - see http://www.word.mvps.org/faqs/apperrors/CorruptDoc.htm -- Margaret Aldis - Microsoft Word MVP Syntagma partnership site: http://www.syntagma.co.uk Word MVP FAQ site: http://www.word.mvps.org "jb" wrote in message ... hi Margaret,
thank you for the response! actually i believe i've found it, it looks like it may be a nested cell. the header is a company logo with manager information. that does NOT show up in the readying layout but does in all other views. so i did a merge on the main cell and Presto! in popped the other data! now i just need to figure out how to get rid of it ;] Thanks again! jb -- jb "Margaret Aldis" wrote: This doesn't sound right - the revision view you get (Final/Original w/without markup) is usually the same in the Print Layout and Reading Layout views - changing it in one view changes it for the other.
