Default Repeat Heading 1 section titles in header

hi
Sorry if this is in the wrong forum or has been answered before - but
after searching i cannot find an answer.

What i want to be able to do is repeat a H1 heading in the page header
of the page where the ''topic' starts and all subsequant pages untill
the next 'topic' starts.

For example

Page 1 Topic 1 - header = Topic 1
Page 2 topic 1 contineus - Header = Topic 1 (cont?)
Page 3 Topic 2 - header = Topic 2 even if Topic 1 continues part way
down page
Page 4 Topic 3 and Start of Topic 4 - Header = Topic 3
Page 5 Topic 4 ends (end of document) - Header = Topic 4

I hope this is clear...

The idea is to follow the same sort of layout as found in programming
books....

Thanks for any direction on this.

This is, in general, what the StyleRef field does, but it will pick up any
new text in the style on a given page, so it would give you Topic 2 on the
page where it starts even if Topic 1 continues on that page.
