Try this: Highlight the lines, choose Format Bullets & Numbering, then
choose the 'Numbered' tab, then choose the 'Customize' button. Play around with the Text Position options. --- Good luck. "Word Wrap" wrote: How do you wrap when using numbers and want the test to automatically line up under the text. Example. 1. sssssssssssssss sssssssssssssssssss Thanks! |

This is called a "hanging indent." You can apply it from the Format
Paragraph dialog or using the ruler (http://word.mvps.org/faqs/formatting/UsingRulers.htm). If you apply automatic numbering or bullets, the hanging indent is included automatically, but it is generally a bad idea to do this using the Numbering or Bullets buttons on the Formatting toolbar; it's better to apply numbered or bulleted styles such as one of the List Number or List Bullet series, which you can customize as required. This is called a hanging indent. Ctrl-T turns this on. Ctrl-Shift-T turns it
off. You can get more control using the ruler or the paragraph formatting dialog box Format Paragraph. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://www.mvps.org/word which is awesome! --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- --------- This message is posted to a newsgroup.
