Default How can I suppress duplicate field data in a Word mail merge?

I preparing a directory mail merge (Word 2003) using an Access 2003 database
as my record source. My directory lists various offices around the world, of
which more than one can be in a country. I want to create a mail merge that
lists all of the locations in a country, but without repeating the country
name each time. Each record in my database contains a country and location
name. For example, my mail merge looks like this:
AUSTRALIA
Brisbane
AUSTRALIA
Perth
AUSTRALIA
Sydney

I want my directory to instead look like this:
AUSTRALIA
Brisbane
Perth
Sydney

How can I suppress the reappearance of the country name if it duplicates the
previous record? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Word isn't really geared for this kind of thing - since you are using
Access,
for example, you may be able to do what you need using the Access report
designer.

However, to attempt it in Word, see the following articles:

Dear Peter

Thank you so much for your reply - your second link to the MS HOW TO looks
to be perfect and I shall follow this route.

FYI, the third link you provided appears to be 404.

Thanks again!
