Default Using a business card template

I want to use the business card template (Avery 8371) to create nametags.
The cursor default is in the center of the card; I want to move it to the top
left corner. I tried backspacing, and all of the formatting options (I
think) -- how do you move the cursor out of the middle??
I've read other posts suggesting the use of Publisher for business cards,
but this seems to be for the creation of a sheet of identical cards, rather
than unique ones.
Please help!
Thanks.
