Default MathType vs. Brownstone Equation Editor

I typically open MathTyppe from Word using the Ctrl-F1 keys. Recently the
same key strokes open a program called Brownstone which is not as fancy as
the program I paid for; it has much of the functionality missing from the
regular MathType. In the past, I uninstall all the software and reinstall it.

Is there a better way to go back to MathType?

How do I assign short cut keys to open the application?
