Default Convert form text boxes to normal text on save in 2003?

Hi all,

Office (word) 2007, when saving a new template/form document (a document
made from a template/form), will convert the form fields to static text.
When/if you email a copy of the document thereafter, it just looks like a
normal word doc (no form field darkened areas....just the text you put in the
form fields).

Is there a way to setup word 2003 so that after you create a document based
on a template with form fields, the form fields are no longer
editable/visible (just the text you put in them is visible like all normal
text)?

Thanks,
CW
