Default Trouble with forms I created in Word 2003

I create form field forms for my department. Recently upgraded to Office
2007. I can't seem to access many things in the "ribbon" in order to unlock
the form and/or make any changes, access the header/ footer etc. I have
spent hours trying to figure this out and have tried things I have seen in
various forums to no avail.

Please help!

The protect/unprotect document location is: Review Tab, the rightmost icon
on the ribbon. When clicked it opens the exact same dialog as Word 2003
does on the right side of the screen.

In 2007 most of the keyboard shortcuts are the same as Word 2003. What
other issues are you having. Exact explanation of the problem will help us
help you.

To access the Legacy Forms tools, you must enable the Developer tab (Office
Button | Word Options | Popular: Show the Developer tab in the Ribbon).
Unfortunately, the Legacy Forms palette has everything *except* the
Lock/Unlock button, but you can add this to your QAT through Customize.
Meanwhile, you can access the Protect Document pane from the Review tab
(also from the Developer tab).

Default Trouble with forms I created in Word 2003

I have been able to find the "protect" action in the review and developer
sections of the ribbon and set them to "unrestricted access"-- and yet I
cannot change the font, access the header and footer, change anything at all
about the form-- really all I am able to do is type into the form as it is
now. This form needs to be updated with new items and changes and this has
become so frustrating for me. I am grateful for any help I can get. I also
went into "Options" and "Popular" and asked it to show the Developer tab, but
I can't much of anything on my "ribbon" it is all "grayed out" with no access.

Thanks for trying to help. I have done this. I can even see the Legacy
Forms palette, but I can't access anything on it. It is all grayed out. I
seem to be "locked out" of nearly everything and it is so frustrating. I
have even set the Protect Forms to "unrestricted access". There must be
something really basic that I am missing. I can't change fonts, access
header/ footer-- practically the entire ribbon in any tab.

Thanks.

Unrestricted Access is a different kind of protection. Instead, you must
click on Restrict Formatting and Editing. In the pane that opens, click on
Stop Protection. For greater convenience, put the Protect/Unprotect button
(padlock icon and called Lock in the All Commands list) on your QAT.
