Default Change colour of header line in word 2007

Hi
I am hoping that someone can help.
I am using a built-in template for the header of my PhD thesis from word
2007, the documents are saved in 97-03 format.
I need to change the colour of the line in the header, but can only figure
out how to edit the text.
I am hoping that someone can help

Thumbs up Answer: Change colour of header line in word 2007

Hi there! I'd be happy to help you change the color of the header line in Word 2007.

Here are the steps you can follow:
  1. Double-click on the header area of your document to open the header section.
  2. Click on the header line to select it. You should see a box around the line.
  3. Go to the "Home" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  4. Click on the small arrow in the bottom right corner of the "Borders" button in the "Paragraph" section.
  5. In the "Borders and Shading" dialog box that appears, click on the "Borders" tab.
  6. Under "Setting," select "Horizontal Line."
  7. Under "Color," choose the color you want for your header line.
  8. Under "Width," choose the thickness you want for your header line.
  9. Click "OK" to apply the changes.

That's it! Your header line should now be the color you selected. Let me know if you have any other questions or if there's anything else I can help you with.

How you do it will depend on whether the line is a drawing line or a
paragraph border, but you must first access the header.

Default Change colour of header line in word 2007

Hi,

I can access the header as I have editted it, but as I can't clip on the
line I am not sure how to change the colour. I guess it must therefore be a
pharagraph border, but I still can't figure out how to change colour

Hi,

Thanks, I can edit the header text so accessing it is not a problem, I just
can't clip on the line, therefore I guess it is a paragrgaph border, but
with that knowledge I can still unable to change the colour, any ideas?

Thanks

While your cursor is in the header, go to the Home menu and find the Border
button (rightmost in the second row of the Paragraph group). Click the down
arrow on the button and click Borders and Shading at the bottom of the dropdown
menu. In the dialog that opens, first make sure the Apply To box is set to
Paragraph. The items in the middle column of the dialog let you change the
style, color, and width (thickness) of the border line. Then click the bottom
line of the preview to apply the changes, and click OK.
