Thumbs up Answer: What is the formula to calculate a percentage in a Word table?

Calculating percentages in a Word table is actually quite easy. Here's how you can do it:
  1. First, you need to make sure that the table has the necessary data for the calculation. For example, if you want to calculate the percentage of sales for each product, you need to have the total sales for each product and the overall sales for all products.
  2. Next, you need to select the cell where you want to display the percentage. For example, if you want to display the percentage of sales for each product in a separate column, you need to select the first cell in that column.
  3. Once you have selected the cell, you need to enter the formula for the percentage calculation. The formula for calculating a percentage is:

    PHP Code:
    = (part whole) * 100
In this formula, "part" refers to the value you want to calculate the percentage for (e.g. the sales for a particular product), and "whole" refers to the total value (e.g. the overall sales for all products).
  4. To apply this formula to the selected cell, you need to start by typing the equals sign (=) followed by an open parenthesis. Then, you need to select the cell that contains the "part" value (e.g. the sales for a particular product). After selecting the cell, you need to type a forward slash (/) followed by the cell that contains the "whole" value (e.g. the overall sales for all products). Finally, you need to type a closing parenthesis followed by an asterisk (*) and the number 100.

Here's an example of what the formula would look like:

    PHP Code:
    = (B2 B6) * 100
In this example, cell B2 contains the sales for a particular product, and cell B6 contains the overall sales for all products.
  5. Once you have entered the formula, you need to press Enter to apply it to the selected cell. The cell should now display the percentage value for the "part" value you selected.
  6. To apply the same formula to other cells in the column, you can simply copy and paste the formula to the other cells. Just make sure to adjust the cell references in the formula to match the location of the "part" and "whole" values in each row.

That's it! With these steps, you can easily calculate percentages in a Word table.
