how do I generate an index for all the words in the document?
I have a publication that needs an index but the index items are not marked
and I don't know the subject well enough to know which words to mark. I want to generate an index of ALL the words in the document and then delete the obvious ones that DON'T apply. Can I do that? How? |

This sounds like a lot of work to create a truly awful index. If you really
want to go down this route you'd need to produce a list of words in the document (see http://groups-beta.google.com/group/...06a482bd77eef6) and then use it as a concordance file (see Word Help). But you would be much better off getting the author or a professional indexer to mark up the document, or even just applying some common sense on an 'if it looks significant mark it' basis. -- Margaret Aldis - Microsoft Word MVP Syntagma partnership site: http://www.syntagma.co.uk Word MVP FAQ site: http://www.word.mvps.org "profitspublishing" wrote in message ...
