Default Add Comment to a Footer

I want to make a comment or note to a footer that is visible as a comment
when the Word document is opened. I have Word 2003 SP3 (with latest updates &
patches). I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 (with latest updates & patches).

Is it possible to do this? i could swear i've seen something like it on a
document someone sent me once. And it wasn't like things look when "track
changes" is on.

thanks!

Default Add Comment to a Footer

Word does not let you add actual comments in footers (or headers or text
boxes), but you can still add text and highlight it. Alternatively, you could
add a text box or frame with text that comments footer contents.
