Default word 2003, email header

I know this has been answer on this group before, but I searched and cannot
find the answer. Thank you in advance. I have a document with the email
header in it, there is no icon for email in the standard toolbar, isnt there
a keyboard shortcut to remove it?

I don't know of a keyboard shortcut, but clicking on File | Send To | Mail
Recipient (appropriate variant) should do it. The E-mail button is standard,
so if you're not seeing it, either it's been removed (and you can restore
it), or you are not displaying the Standard and Formatting toolbars on two
rows, in which case you should be able to see the less-often-used buttons by
clicking the arrows at the end of the toolbar.

I tried what you suggested, nothing works ... I even reset the standard
toolbar to the default, the email icon appears greyed out. I am really
struggling, any other way to get rid of this thing? Many thanks for your
response.

What happens if you start Word in Office Safe Mode (by pressing and holding
Ctrl while the app loads)?
