Default Template problems

I am trying to do a resume using the contemporary resume template. My issue
is I need to add another gray subject box on the left side of the page. I
have tried everything I know. Please help.

Default Template problems

Templates are just tables. Turn on the gridlines and non-printing
characters. That will help you figure out what you need to do.

Thanks! Now how do I find non printing characteristics?
