Default Merging Files

I wondered if there was any way to get a Header/Footer to appear on the left
and right of a page instead of top and bottom - okay, I'm merging two docs -
one is in portrait and one is in landscape. I want the header and footer to
appear at the visual top and bottom of the landscape pages instead of the
"real" top and bottom. I did it by turning off the header/footer and
inserting manual text boxes for the header and page numbers, and then turning
the header/footer back on when I continued on in Portrait mode afterwards.
But just wondered if there was anyway to make it do something like that? If I
could just insert Tables sideways, it would have solved ALL of my problems! I
tried inserting them in a text box with text direction changed, but it
wouldn't let me do that (sigh). I could do them as screen-shots, but the
thing needs to be updated periodically, and then I need to keep two sets of
docs (to much possibility for error) - so didn't do that.

Thanks!

See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting...apeSection.htm. You might
want to save your portrait-on-landscape header and footer as AutoText
entries.
