Default Copy & Paste problem

I am having difficulty with copy & paste. If I copy material from a web
page, then open Word 2003, I'm unable to paste the material into Word.
The copy icon is "off." If I try to copy the material into Word by
doing a right click, I can't click "Paste" because it is "greyed out."

If, however, I open Word 2003 first, then copy material from a website,
then return to Word, the copy icon is "on" and I can paste.

So my question is, how can I copy and paste without having to first
open Word? Thanks!

Default Copy & Paste problem

Do you have macros or add-ins installed?
The problem you describe could be caused by a macro that clears the
clipboard when Word opens.

If you have macros in your Normal.dot, check whether you have one named
AutoExec, AutoOpen or AutoNew. If such macro contains code with the word
"Clipboard", that macro could be the culprit.

If the problem is not in your Normal.dot and if you have add-ins installed,
try to move the add-ins away from the Startup folder one at a time in order
to find out whether one of them is the culprit.

For information about add-ins, see:
