I have headers that take up all of page, how do I get rid of it?
I have paragraph marks that I can't delete and some headers roll on for
several pages and I can't minimize them. There is text behind the header boxes that is not in the header box itself (grayed out). There is nothing that I can do to edit these. Help!!! |

Text behind the header boxes may be in frames, either anchored in the header
or in the document body. You get these by using Insert Page Number. You should not be using that. I would start over with a blank document based on the template I want to be using. Select text from your old document and paste it into the new one, avoiding section breaks and the last paragraph in the document. Recreate your headers and footers the way you want them. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome! Glad to have helped.
Incidentally, instead of using Insert Page Number, use View Header and Footer and then insert the page numbers using the toolbar. -- Charles Kenyon Word New User FAQ & Web Directory: http://addbalance.com/word Intermediate User's Guide to Microsoft Word (supplemented version of Microsoft's Legal Users' Guide) http://addbalance.com/usersguide See also the MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/ which is awesome!
