Default How do I remove unused languages from the drop-down language bar?

I type documents in three different languages--when I want to switch to
spell-check in another langugae, I must scroll through the drop-down bar of
several hundred languages to reach Spanish. How do I remove unused languages
from the scroll-down bar, so only those I use appear in the language bar and
the "set language" icon?

What version of Word are you using? In Word 2003 and 2007 (can't check
earlier since I have only these two installed at present), the languages I
actually use are cached at the top of the list of languages. So, I don't
have to scroll though the other ones.

Is language caching not working? If not, you can tap the key that the
language you're looking for starts with (i.e., tap "s" to scroll to the
beginning of languages starting with s). But, I'm surprised that you don't
have the ones you've used at the top of the list, separated by a double line
from the larger list.

This is a suggestion:

Record a new Macro
Assign it to a tool bar button OR a short cut key like:
[shift]+[alt]+"S" for Spanish
record you selecting Spanish language
stop the macro recorder

and etcetera

maybe other letters for other languages
[shift]+[alt]+"E" for English
[shift]+[alt]+"R" for Russian
[shift]+[alt]+"D" for Dutch

Macros can become really good friends for repetitive tasks for those who
don't program.
