My computer recently crashed and I lost all my personal settings in Word.
How can I reenter my settings and save them so that everytime I open a new document my settings are there, rather than the Normal.dot settings? |

Many of your customized settings *are* saved in Normal.dot, and others are in the registry. See http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/FilesToBackup.htm for a description of what's where. If you find that you enter settings and they don't stick, see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissngMenusEtc.htm and the articles linked from there. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org |
