Protecting copying from a document
In the 2003 version I was able to protect an entire document from everything
including copying from it. I am unable to do so in 2007. I can only protect formatting. Could someone tell me how to do it. Thanks. |

Protecting copying from a document
It is not possible in any version of Word to "protect an entire document
from everything including copying from it." If you thought you were doing that, you were mistaken or misled. It's possible you applied forms protection, which is very easily removed. To create a protected form in Word 2007, using the Legacy Forms controls, you must add the Developer tab by checking the box for "Show Developer tab in the Ribbon" in Office Button | Word Options | Popular. Then select the Developer tab and click on Legacy Tools in the Controls group to get the forms controls. The tools do not, however, include the Lock button. You can add that to the QAT from the All Commands section of Word Options | Customize. There is also a Protect Document group on the Developer tab. -- Suzanne S.
