Default Not seeing Indent options when I place my cursor on the ruler

Normally, when you place your cursor on the ruler, you will see Haning Indent
or Left Indent depending on where you place the cursor. I am no longer
seeing it. How do I get it back?

I'm really not sure whether you mean you aren't seeing:

A) The Ruler, itself (Viewruler),

B) The little Tip boxes (ToolsCustomize - tick the checkbox for 'Show
ScreenTips on Toolbars'), or

C) The Indent markers themselves... In which case further clarification is
required as long as you are not in Reading Layout or Outline View.

Thanks for writing - sorry I was not clear. What I am referring to is the
icon that looks somewhat like an hour glass , i.e. an upside down triangle on
top of a regular triangle that you can drag back and forth to serve as your
left margin. If you point the cursor at the bottom half it will bring up a
small dialog box that says "Hanging Indent." Point it at the very bottom and
it says another kind of indent which I forget. Anyway, those little dialog
boxes are not popping up and that is what i am interested in fixing. Thank
you again for your rersponse.

Then you just need to follow point B of my previous post. That should
reactivate the "small dialog box", which is called a ScreenTip

Good morning. I looked at Step B and found that selection has been made but
I still don't see the small dialog box - I used to. Advice?

You are probably on a web layout or normal view. Try viewing it on a print
layout, and slowly drag that so-called hour glass to your right.

I see ScreenTips on the ruler in Normal view (which is the view I use most
of the time).

Default Not seeing Indent options when I place my cursor on the ruler

Now I'm confused - but that's not particularly unusual :}

My earlier reply was generated from my system at work running 2003 on XP
Pro. I confirmed on 2 systems before posting because I *thought* the tips
should appear whenever the ruler was displayed. In Normal & Web Layout I had
no tips display, but the did display in Print Layout.

I just checked on my Mac/VPC7 running 2003 in XP Pro where I *do* have the
tips display regardless of View.

Unfortunately I don't have the respective build info available, but I wonder
if there may be a glitch somewhere along the way from one update to the
next.

The only thing I can suggest is that you try HelpDetect & Repair - perhaps
that will rectify it. I'll try to look a bit further, but won't be back in
the office until next week (and time will be limited, I'm afraid.)
