Stopped Working
For the past few days I suddenly get a window with, "Microsoft Word has
stopped working" announcement followed by the program closing before it ever opens. This happens only 2 out of 3 times I try to start Word 2007 (OS--Vista), either from a shortcut or using Start -- Programs. What could be going on? Did I corrupt the Word program somehow? |

Stopped Working
I found the culprit: Nuance's PDF Converter Professional 4. I had just
installed it a couple of days ago, so I tried to contact Nuance support. They demanded $9.95 per email support. Since I had recently purchased and installed the software, I expected free installation support. Not to be found on the Nuance website! I am disapponted with Nuance. I uninstalled the PDF Converter Professional 4 and Microsoft Word opens normally again. Avoiding disabling, unsupported software, it seems, should be more than a nuance.
