More likely what you're seeing is a pilcrow (¶). See

What is the "+" symbol & how do I get rid of it?
Hi, Suzanne:
I appreciate your quick response but the "+" (plus) symbol I get each time I hit the ENTER key is definately not a Pilcrow. I followed the link you provided and it had nothing to do with the issue I am having. It does seem to be some sort of formatting and/or tracking marker but I am helpless to figure out how to get rid of it. "Suzanne S. Barnhill" wrote: More likely what you're seeing is a pilcrow (¶). What is the "+" symbol & how do I get rid of it?
I am using MS Word 2003. If there is some sort of document management program
running, I don't know. This is my first day on the job and no one else in the office is having this issue with their Word application. + ----- Above (see the "+" sign after the word application) is an example of the issue I am having. It seems to be affecting ALL my MS applications, even when I type in a search field on Google or Yahoo. Each time I hit the ENTER key, the "+" sign appears and the cursor drops down to the next line. If it's happening universally, then it sounds as if the problem might be
with the keyboard. Is it programmable? Have you tried plugging in a different keyboard? -- Suzanne S.
