Anyone know how to capture a DVD playing in word (static image required),

Default DVD Print Capture in Word 2003

Word is a word processor - it doesn't play DVDs! If you wish to insert a
still picture from a video DVD into Word you need a software DVD player of
editor capable of capturing still images. The obvious choice is VideoRedo
(there is a demo). Locate the image you want then press CTRL+C to create a
still image in BMP format, which you can insert into Word.
