Default I want to repair old word documents that became corrupted

My old word documents have been corrupted due to reinstallation of Windows.
When I open a word file a message appears which shows to select a language to
open a document but all the languages are unreadable. All the files have
".doc" extension. Kindly resolve this problem.

Reinstalling Windows doesn't corrupt documents. If your documents really are
corrupt, restore them from the backup you made before reinstalling Windows.
If you didn't do a backup before the reinstallation, you don't need the
documents anyway.
