Default What is a test of word processing skills?

I need a short test to assess a job applicant's word processing skills. I
would prefer a short typing test on the computer which would show how they
format, edit and proof documents.

Off-topic for this newsgroup. Try google. Not sure the term "typing test"
will be the best keyword.

However, you should probably look around your office for something you might
ask them to do in the job, and see how they do it.

Hi VVS

For what it's worth, I have often asked people in an interview if they
prepared their own job application. Everyone always says yes. So then I show
them their application and ask them how they did it. For example, how they
created the bullets, or the page numbering, or the headings or some such. It
takes about 30 seconds to learn whether the person really knows how to use
the word processor.

Hope this helps.
