Startup Folder
Word 2002 and 2003
A programmer has been using C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10 (11) to put a template with macros and a toolbar for thousands of workers instead of the Word defined location. We note that even with Word closed, you cannot delete, rename, move that file until you close all Microsoft Office applications. Can anyone explain to me how this Startup location in Program Files is designed to work? I've always thought you had to use C:\Documents and Settings\{profilename}\Application Data\Microsoft\Word\Startup or other defined folder as indicated within Word at Tools | Options | File Locations | Startup. |
