Default when typing my .doc file becomes a .temp file all by itseff??

Whenever I am in a document and if I click Save or change something, it turns
my already ssaved .doc file into a .temp file and I have to g and do a save
as again over the existing .doc file. Has anyone heard of this??

Word is alwaiys creating temp files. That is built into how Word works. It
does not make your document a temp file, though, it is still there. What
happens if you close your file (and Word) after you do your save?
