Default how do save-as from scanner to cd?

using xp; scanned a document and then tried to save-as onto a cd. got
message that said 'incorrect function' then after 'ok' got another message
that said "you do not have access to the folder 'E:\'. See your
administrator for access to this folder". This is my personal computer at
home and no one but me uses it. I am somewhat of a novice yet. Would
appreciate in help.

Save to the hard drive and use your CD software to copy to the disc.
