Do substitute fonts depend on printer chosen?
I use Word 2003 on XP Pro/SP2.
When I compose a new document in MS Word, I understand that the fonts Word makes available to me is based on which fonts my default printer can handle. Can someonehelp me with the following situation. ------------------------------------ Suppose I do not embed any fonts into my document. I save my document as a .DOC file and send it to another user The other user and I both have the same set of fonts insatlled in our Font folder. However we each use different printers. QUESTION: Will the other user's ability to display or print the fonts I have used depend on which default printer they have got selected on their system? |

If the remote user has the same fonts installed and the active printer is
capable of printing them then the remote user will be able to view and print them. Differences between printer drivers may result in a slightly different representation of the document see http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/Formatting/TextReflow.htm -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org John wrote: I use Word 2003 on XP Pro/SP2. If you both have the same printer drivers installed they will look very similar as long as your printer settings are all about the same settings. Margins, everything has to be the same for them to be identical looking. If it's real important, sometimes people will share the printer drivers with each other when they're using compatible printers. BTDT.
