Default Word 2003 won't open old Word docs!

Recently installed Office 2002 on my XP system. When I try to open old Word
docs I get a "file is not available message".

anyone know a fix?
thanks

Disable the Office Plugin that comes with Symantec/Norton AntiVirus. See
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How to use Office programs
with the Norton AntiVirus Office plug-in" for more info.

Two things to try:

get an update for Word

disable the Norton AntiVirus Plug-In
