Default using XP why can't I see what I am typing in word 2007

When using word 2007 with XP as the OS, the font defaults to calibi 11 which
I cannot see on the page. I have tried to select other fonts but still I
can't see them. The only way of seeing what I am doing is by using the
'draft' option. This does not affect Vista.
