Default Textbox(s) not taking focus

This may sound a little weird. I have a word doc with 7 text fields, though
when I use the mouse to select any of the fields, they don't take focus on
the first click but on the second click. I played with this a bit and entered
text in them all and attempted to ctrl+a each field and the result was the
same, I would have to repeat the action twice before it would work. Then I
went to delete the text and the result was the same again, it required two
actions to make it happen.

I've never had this issue with any Office product that I can think of.

Any ideas/thoughts on this?

Which tool did you use to insert these "text fields"? And which versin of Word?

This is only the one document?

Sorry for the late reply...

This is Word 2003.... (11.8106.8107) SP2

Just the standard text box from the control toolbar. Actually any document
that I have added text boxes to, I get the same result.

The "Controls Toolbox", then?

And are the textboxes formatted graphically to be "inline with text" or do they have
textflow formatting applied?

I take it you have NOT protected the document as a form?
