Default Paste is not retaining formatting in rtf doc

Word 2003

Hi,

I'm working on an rtf doc. Sometimes when I cut and paste (or copy and
paste) within the document, the formatting of the text is not retained in the
pasted texted. The formatting is typically bold setting and paragraph/line
indentation. Other times in the same document it works fine. I might have the
issue in .doc documents too sometimes, but haven't confirmed yet.

If after cutting or copying I choose Edit | Paste Special, all I get are
"unformatted text" options.

Any suggestions? Very frustrating.

Thanks,
Michael
