Default Unprotect a Word 2007 document

I have been emailed a Word 2007 document that is protected (under the Review
tab). I cannot unprotect the document and, much worse, all my word documents
are now also protected. I have clicked on the Protect Document tab but there
is no option then to select end protection. help please

If the document is protected, if you click on the Protect Document item on
the Review tab and then on the Restrict Formatting and Editing, an Unprotect
button will be displayed.

The button to stop protection is at the bottom of the Restrict formatting and
editing pane. ...Easy to overlook.

Pam,

After going to the Review Pane, the Restrict Permissions option was set to
"Unrestricted Access". The document was still locked from editing. After
reading YOUR post to look for the button to "Stop Protection" under the
Restrict Formatting and Editing pane it successfully Unprotected the document
and I can now resume editing.
Thank You Very Much for your Post. I spent an hour googling a resolution to
no avail until I finally found your Post.

Much Appreciated

George
