I deleted several items under "add/remove hardware". I thought the ones I got
rid of were safe to do so but somehow I lost a component of Microsoft Word or Microsoft Office. I did Restore several times but it didn't help. I go to START, then hit MICROSOFT WORD, a box comes up that says, "Windows Installer". Then another box comes up that says, "the feature you are trying to use is on a CD rom or other disk that is not available. Insert disk and try again." I cannot find the original disk that came with my computer, I've had this one for several years. Is there anything I can do? thank you. |

If you have Windows System Restore active, you *may* be able to roll back to
the time before you removed these items, otherwise you need the disc. Depending on the Office version you *may* be able to get a replacement disc from Microsoft, otherwise beg steal or borrow a disc for the same Office version from someone else who has it. You can use Berlarc Advisor to obtain the installation key number from the installed version of most Word versions. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org nfergus wrote: I deleted several items under "add/remove hardware". Thank you Graham! I'm going to try to get a replacement disc from Microsoft.
