Default format text to change data in report with word 2003

We do narrative type R/E appraisal reports approx. 80 pages long. Most of
these reports are based on previously addressed and dated report templates. I
would like to set (maybe macro's?) so that if I type a new date in it will
replace it throughout the report (approx 5 places). The same goes for the
address of the property field. It appears in approximately 6 places.
Currently I retype each one or copy and paste on top of the existing one.
Also the $ figure changes in each new report in about 6 places. It would be
so much easier to format the first data field and command it to change all
the rest of the report places. What is the solution to this. I want to make
templates for these reports with the data formated to change as I type it in.
Please help me.
