Address Book versus Autocorrect in Word 2007
After many, many hours trying to get the insert address feature to work and
failing due to not being able to find the correct address book/contact list to work), the simple approach as mentioned many times on this board is to simply use autotext/quick parts instead for all of the addresses. Type the address, highlight, Alt-F3 to save with a unique identifier as autotext. Then when needing the address type the identifier and hit F3. I know this has been repeated many times on this board but I am so excited that I don't have to spend any more hours trying to get the insert address featrue to work anymore that I thought I would share with all of the other poor soles fighting with it that there is indeed a simple solution! Thanks to all of the posters/MVP's on this board for their help. |

Address Book versus Autocorrect in Word 2007
Note that, in Word 2007, making use of (formatted) AutoCorrect entries might
be even easier. -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Karen" wrote: After many, many hours trying to get the insert address feature to work and failing due to not being able to find the correct address book/contact list to work), the simple approach as mentioned many times on this board is to simply use autotext/quick parts instead for all of the addresses. Address Book versus Autocorrect in Word 2007
Yes, I'm using this to insert mailing addresses into letters for every doc.
Is there a quick key combo to get save an autocorrect without having to go through the main menu? Address Book versus Autocorrect in Word 2007
There's no shortcut to making AutoCorrect entries, so you might want to use
AutoText instead, since that allows you to select text (such as an address), press Alt+F3, give it a name, and save it to the appropriate gallery (AutoText or some other you create). To insert the entry, you can type the first few letters of the entry name (enough to be unique) and press F3. -- Suzanne S. Address Book versus Autocorrect in Word 2007
You can add the autotext command to the QAT which makes things much simpler
and/or assign a keyboard shortcut to it. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Karen wrote: Yes, I'm using this to insert mailing addresses into letters for every doc. You can assign a shortcut to the ToolsAutoCorrect command in Customize/
Keyboard, then highlight your word/phrase and press the shortcut. You word/phrase will already be in the With box. Cheryl On Jul 9, 6:57*am, "Suzanne S.
