Why doesn't my custom template attach to my .htm file?
I created a Word document based on an attached template that I created. When
I save the document as a Web Page (filtered) .htm, and look at its properties, I see that the correct template is being used. When I open this ..htm file again in Word, it no longer uses my custom template, but rather the normal.dot template. This does not happen if I save the file as Web Page ..htm. Why does the file revert to the normal.dot template when I choose to filter the file? Thanks, KC |

When you save a Word document as a Web page, a great deal of extra
information is embedded that permits "roundtripping," that is, conversion back to a Word document. When you save as "Web page, filtered," this reconversion information is lost. -- Suzanne S.
