Default move search bar from on top of the Minimize button

The Search bar is on top of the Minimize buttons in Word and Excel 2003
Professional. How do you move this to another part of the Toolbar or remove
it?

You are misinterpreting the layout. Since each document/spreadsheet is
displayed in its own window, the window control buttons above the Search bar
are for the document or spreadsheet--more or less. To make matters more
confusing, the solitary X is to close the window (document) and the X next
to Minimize and Restore also closes the window, which results in closing the
application if the window is the last (or only) one open.
