Default insert table command inserts only a single column and row table

When I select Insert Table, instead of the option to select number of columns
and rows, a table is automatically inserted with only one row and column.

Nova,
That's strange, normally you can set the default dimensions of a new table
by choosing the wanted columns and rows and checking the box at the bottom
of the dialogue.
Are you saying that no dialogue whatsoever appears when you choose Table -
insert table?

Yes- that is what was happening- but it was only on that one document. The problem seems to have fixed itself, but it was very strange.
