No, there's nothing on the computer that will affect the way the
printer moves the paper. Some printers have a lever or other control that you can change, although that usually only moves the print header closer or farther from the platen. If the printer is more than a couple of years old, the rubber rollers that move the paper might be getting stiffer or not have enough friction. Sometimes you can fix that by rubbing them with the eraser tip of a pencil. You should look at the printer's instruction manual. If you don't still have it, you can probably download a copy from www.hp.com. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. This has nothing to do with Word (or Windows) and everything to do with your
printer's inability to handle paper. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Linda on Maui wrote: My printer is a great HP,, but it will not pick up the card stock (not heavy)... is there a windows xp setting to tell the printer to accept a heaver weight paper than usual??? thanks... |
