I am becoming very frustrated with ms word and the TOC
functionality... All I want to do is create a simple 1-level TOC with numbering and the page numbers ALIGNED RIGHT. when I create the TOC (insert/reference/ index and tables) I take the "right align page numbers" option. It works fine until I UPDATE THE TOC!!!! I rt-click in the TOC and say "Update Field" and choose "Entire Table", the page numbering is now next to the end of the text. Help? |

Make sure that the TOC style in question still has the tab stop at the right
margin and that any other tab stops are appropriately placed to accommodate the paragraph numbers. Press Alt+F9 and examine the TOC field code. If there is a \p switch, delete it. -- Suzanne S.
