Default Styles and Formatting Window

Since I work with so many shortcuts, I've forgotten a lot about where things
are on toolbars and also how to change the information that the toolbar
reflects.

My latest quandry is this:

When I look at the styles window on the computer where I am now situated, I
just want to see the name of the style; i.e., Heading 1, Heading 2, Normal,
etc. The computer I now work on shows all the formatting particulars, such
as bold, etc. Somehow it distracts me. I've forgotten how I had previously
set mine so that it didn't show everything about the style. Can you refresh
my memory?

Thank so much.

I'm not sure which version of Word you are using, but there is an option to
enable/disable show Styles Preview. In Word2007, it is a check box at the
bottom of the Styles Pane.
