Default When I save a template it only saves as a doc. not dot.

How are you saving your Template? Are you changing the SaveAs Type
right below the file name? When you change it to Document Template,
Word also changes the directory that you are saving the template into.
It defaults to where your Normal.dot template is stored. Is that
happening for you?

Please describe the steps you are taking to save your template so we
can help determine where things are going wrong.
