I open word 2003 and cannot do any work on it because it is locked...How do I
unlock it?

You either have a trial version that came with your new PC and the trial has
expired or you have not activated Word and after 50 uses it has locked out.

In the former case you need to purchase the program; in the latter case you
need to activate it (under Tools menu).
