when i open a word document in office 2003 and do my work then hit File, Save
As, the 'save as' window does not come up. I have office2003 with sp1 on my
XP workstation. I have tried to completely uninstall office 2003 and also
downloaded all windows office updates and applied them.
any help anyone can give me would be great as this is driving me crazy.

Right-click on the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop, left-click on
Disconnect Network Drive, and disconnect any mapped network drives that are
not currently available.

If you have Norton AntiVirus installed, disable its Office Plug-in.
